Did you know that each year, St. Mary Parish receives gifts of stock as a form of contribution and support? For some donors, this type of gift alleviates the capital gains tax associated with a stock sale. Others enjoy the benefit of a pretax charitable contribution of required distributions from their retirement funds. Speaking with your tax preparer or your retirement and/or brokerage account representative is a great first step in finding out whether making this type of contribution is right for you.
