Communion for the Homebound/Nursing Homes

Each week, lay ministers of the Eucharist from the parish take Eucharist to those who are homebound. The Pastoral Minister also brings Eucharist weekly or biweekly to those who request it. If you or someone you know is homebound and would like a pastoral visit, please call the Parish office at 262-694-6018 for more information.

MEN’S Group

The Men’s Group meets every Tuesday morning for conversation, prayer, and study. The group has been in existence for over 5 years and has between 12 and 15 men attending. Each meeting starts with coffee and conversation. The group comes together for a brief prayer before discussing the day’s topic. The discussion topics vary. At times, the discussion can involve men’s spirituality. At other times, the Sacraments, the Bible, or current issues within the church. The discussions are often based on a book or an article that the group has read. The members of the group vary in age, profession, and education.

What You'll Find Each Week

  • Fellowship and shared prayer intentions
  • Reflection on the upcoming Sunday Gospel
  • A video and discussion led by a group member
  • Conversation on the Sacraments, the Holy Spirit, the liturgical seasons, and living the faith every day.

The group meets at 6:00 am - 7:30 am on Tuesday mornings at Trinity Lutheran Church (North of St. Mary). Please enter through the West side door as we gather there until our new space is ready. New members are always welcome! Come as you are and join us as we grow in faith together. Questions about the group can be directed to the Parish Office at 262-694-6018.

Safe Environment Education (S.E.E.) - formerly Virtus

This is a three-part process for every volunteer and every parish employee who works with children. The first requirement is to attend an awareness session concerning child sexual abuse entitled: “Protecting God’s Children.” This typically runs 2-3 hours and is held in the evening and during the day at our parish and at multiple locations throughout the diocese. Educational sessions are listed online at www.archmil.org.

Each participant is also required to acknowledge receipt and sign the “Code of Ethical Standards for Church Leaders.” Additionally, every participant must authorize the parish to complete both a national and statewide criminal background check. Background checks will be repeated as needed or every five years, whichever comes first. Continued employment and volunteerism are contingent on compliance with each of these requirements.

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee is committed to maintaining safe environments for children to learn, pray and grow. The Safe Environment Office supports the archdiocese, parishes and schools in maintaining compliance with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Charter for the Protection of Children & Young People.
